Would you like a new look and feel for your home for the upcoming holidays? Without the expense and disruption of a complete remodeling? Consider adding handcrafted textiles and wooden pieces to complement your decorating style.
Be inspired by a visit to “Weaving & Wood for the Artisan Home,” an exhibit presented by the Jordan River Arts Council, running from October 13 – November 9, 2019. View the artistry of local handweavers including rugs, towels, blankets, baskets, and more. See functional and beautiful contributions of area woodworkers: one-of-a-kind furniture, some of locally-sourced wood, and smaller wooden items such as hand-turned bowls and platters. Whether your style is elegant, rustic, or more eclectic, this show offers examples of hand-crafted contemporary home goods to personalize your surroundings and take your decorating out of the big box.
Show hours are 1:00 – 4:00 PM daily. A gallery talk is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30 at 2:00 PM. Join us then for some of stories behind the pieces in the show. Co-Curators Linda Van Andel and Julie Hurd, as well as other contributing weavers and woodworkers, will be available to share their techniques and inspirations.
